Elk

Elk or wapiti is one if the largest of the deer species in North America and Eastern Asia. They occupy forest or forest-edge habitats. Female elk do not grow antlers while males shed theirs every year. During mating season, males engage in posturing, antler wrestling and bugling in order to establish dominance over other males. They are hunted for meat which is actually leaner than beef or chicken. From personal experience, it’s actually very minimally gamey and probably is even less depending on how you cook it.
