Sloth

The sloth is a very slow moving animal found in Central and South America. They make good habitats for other critters such as moths, roaches, beetles, as well as fungi and algae. The bulk of their diet consists of buds, tender shoots and leaves. Some two toed sloths have been known to catch insects, small reptiles and birds to supplement their diet. Their claws are used primary for hanging in trees but can also be used in defense. Despite living in trees, the sloth is actually a competent swimmer. Their algae and fungi laden fur helps camouflage them in the trees and they’re only really vulnerable on the rare occasion that they come to the ground.
