Armadillo

All armadillo species are native to the Americas. They have a leathery armor shell which protects them when they roll into a tight ball. Not all species roll into a ball, however. They range in size from 5-6 inches up to 30 inches. The giant armadillo at 30 inches can weigh 130 lbs. They have poor eyesight but a keen sense of smell.  Their diets consist mainly of insects.
