Shoebill

The shoebill, also known as whalehead or shoe-billed stork, is a very large, stork-like bird found in large swamps of east Africa, from the Sudan to Zambia. It’s noted for its slow movements and tendency to remain still for long periods of time. The shoebill likes wading in poorly oxygenated waters where fish have to surface to breathe. They are listed as Vulnerable.
