Roseate Spoonbill

I believe this is a roseate spoonbill. They are a wading bird of the ibis and spoonbill species. They are native to South America, east of the Andes. They are 28-34″ long with a wingspan of 47-52″, weighing between 2.6-4.0 lbs. they have a greenish head (golden when breeding), pink wings, white neck, back, and breast. The pink color, like flamingos, is derived from their diets consisting of the carotenoids pigment canthaxanthin.
