Red Fox

The red fox is the most prevalent member of the canine family and are spread across the entire Northern Hemisphere from the Arctic Circle to North Africa, Central America and Asia. Some dummy brought it over to Australia where it is listed as one of the world’s 100 worst invasive species as it is devastating native mammals and bird populations. There are currently 45 recognized subspecies. Though they are called ‘red’ foxes, they do produce other colorings, including albinos and melanists (the opposite of albinism with black pigmented fur and skin).
