Grey Crested Crane

The grey crested crane is native to Africa, south of the Sahara. It is Uganda’s national bird. They are about 3 feet tall, weighing in at 7.7 lbs. They are omnivores, eating everything from insects and plants and seeds to small fish and snakes. They spend their entire day looking for food. At night, the grey crested crane roosts in trees. They are listed as endangered.
