Great Grey Owl

The great grey owl is documented as the world’s largest species of owl. It is distributed across the northern hemisphere. It also goes by Phantom of the North, cinereous owl, spectral owl, Lapland owl, spruce owl, bearded owl, and sooty owl, depending on where you come from. They range between 24-33″ in length and weigh from 1.28-4.19 lbs. Their wingspans can exceed 60″. They have extraordinary hearing with the ability to detect rodents under 2′ of snow.
