There are approximately 160 species of chameleon. Their distinguishing features include zygodactylous feet, separately mobile stereoscopic eyes, and a very long, projectile tongue. They are found in warm climates that vary from rain forest to deserts. The chameleon can see in both visible and ultraviolet light.
