The bearded emperor tamarin is a small New World monkey found throughout the southwest Amazon Basin in the rain forests of Bolivia, Brazil and Peru. They live in small groups of 3-8 members. The emperor tamarin is not currently Endangered, but their numbers are being threatened by loss of habitat.
