The slow loris includes several different species of nocturnal primates in Southeast Asia. I believe the one pictured here is a Bengal slow loris, which occupies the Indian subcontinent and Indochina. It prefers forests with dense canopies. If the environment is healthy, the slow loris is healthy. They are seed dispersers and pollinators. Its diet consists primarily of fruit, but also includes insects, tree gum, snails, and small vertebrates. It is listed as Vulnerable due to illegal hunting and habitat loss.
