I believe this little cat is a margay. It could be an ocelot but I’m sticking with margay. In either case, they are both native to the Americas, roaming the remote rain forests from Mexico to Argentina. Hunted for their fur, they’re now listed as Near Threatened. About 14,000 are killed annually. They are nocturnal and solitary animals, coming together only to mate. The margay is small, weighing 5.7-8.8 lbs. while ocelots are 18-40 lbs.
