The bluespine unicorn fish, or kala (kah-lah) in Hawaiian, are tangs from the Indo-Pacific. They grow to about 70 cm in length. It’s most noticeable trait is the spike protruding from its forehead. Another characteristic is the scalpel sharp spines on either side of the base of its tail, which it uses in self defense, they live in tropical waters around coral reefs.
