The black-bearded saki is a Critically Endangered species of bearded saki, a New World monkey. This primate is endemic to the far eastern Amazon in Brazil. They are classified in the genus Chiropotes. Bearded sakis differ from saki monkeys by their pronounced beard. Their long bushy tails are used for balance not grasping. The primary threats are hunting and habitat destruction. I couldn’t find any info on the extra large noggin of the black-bearded saki. Anyone know what that’s about?
