Alpaca

An alpaca is a domestic species of South American camelid, resembling a small llama. They are kept in herds at level heights of the Andes of southern Peru, northern Bolivia, Ecuador, and northern Chile. They stay at heights of 11,500-16,000 feet. The alpaca, like other camelids, have a three chambered stomach. Along with chewing cud, this digestive system allows for maximum extraction of nutrients from low quality forages.
