The Valais Blackneck is a domestic goat in southern Switzerland and neighboring areas of northern Italy. It is also present in smaller numbers in Austria and Germany. It’s a long-haired goat, black from the nose to the shoulder and white from the shoulder to the tail. It has long, flat horns, which sweep back and then outward. Both male and female Blacknecks have horns. This goat is popular for its milk, meat, and for vegetation management.
