Here’s a real quick one for tonight. This is an Indian pangolin. It’s also known as the scaly anteater. They’re found in India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and parts of Pakistan. All species of pangolin have large overlapping scales which act as armor. When threatened, they roll up into a tight ball. This defense mechanism will confound predators such as the tiger. Like anteaters, they have extremely long tongues used for feeding on ants and termites. They are in a near threatened state due to hunting. They are hunted for meat and also for making medicinal oils.
