Cockatoo

Cockatoos are part of the parrot family and often considered as pets. This particular cockatoo is a sulphur-crested cockatoo. It’s a rather large white bird native to the wooded habitats of Australia , New Guinea, and some islands of Indonesia. They can live up to 70 years. They are zygodactylous, two middle toes curving forward and the outer two backward. They can deliver a crushing, vice like bite. All cockatoo species have a movable crest on their heads which is raised when landing, aroused or curious. They prefer to eat seeds, tubers, fruit, flowers and insects.
